	The Revd Robert Penrith – Rector
Office: 041-5812162 Home : 041-3605943 Cell: 0832709942 mail: rob@stjohnswalmer.org.za	I have been privileged to serve this community since February 1995 and during that time Gay, my wife, and I have grown to appreciate and honour the depth of spirituality and faith that are shown by the people of St John's. The staff, who are listed below, are committed and dedicated to serving the Lord and the community of which we are part. The Lord has laid upon our hearts a vision of growth for the congregation in all areas of our lives and to this end we will labour to the glory of God. I have asked each staff member to give a pen picture of their roles here at St John's and they are listed below.

	The Revd Nicolette Leonard – Assistant Priest

Assistant priest- appointed in January 2003 to fulltime ministry in this diocese after being ordained on 30 September 2000 to priesthood. I am really privileged and honoured to serve God's people in this community and diocese. I have learned a lot and am still learning a lot and believe that this opportunity to serve God's people here at St. John's has brought me closer to God and has deepened my fellowship with our Lord Jesus Christ and with God's people here.I like the words of this hymn and feel it describes my "feelings" about serving this community:- "I live now not with my own life But with Jesus the life living in me. Here in this flesh I live in faith, Faith in the life of Jesus Christ my Lord." I am the Convener of Centre of Concern Committee, (Social outreach) and assist withSunday worship and other tasks as and when required.

	The Revd Angela Brown – Assistant Priest
Office : 041-5812162 Home : 041-3685544 Cell: 0826929215 mail: angela@stjohnswalmer.org.za	I joined the staff at St John's around the middle of 2004, after retiring as Director & Principal of a small local Independent High School. My pastoral responsibilities give me great joy and particularly involve the 'senior' parishioners, and a support group for folk who are caring for loved ones on a long-term basis. I help to co-ordinate the prayer ministry in the parish and assist with the planning for Sunday services as well as other special services. Even though I am still 'growing into' my ministry amongst the staff team, I have grown to experience a deep sense of fulfillment in serving the wonderful folk of St John's

	Julia Bradder- Parish Secretary
Office: 041-5812162 mail: julia@stjohnswalmer.org.za	I am privileged to be part of the team here at St John’s. My specific role is that of Parish Secretary and I love the opportunity that it gives to interact, on a daily basis, with the parishioners and people of this community.
	Lena Nesslar – Volunteer
Office : Home : Cell: 078 023 5811 mail: lena@stjohnswalmer.org.za	As of this year St. John´s has a cooperation with the German volunteer-programme “weltwaerts”. This programme was established by the German government in 2008 and gives young volunteers the opportunity to live and work in a foreign country for a couple of months. I am the first German volunteer at St. John´s and I am staying until the end of 2010. Back in Germany I studied Sportscience and Geography, that is why I am involved in the sport-related projects of St. John´s, for example the Play and Learn-Centre, the Ruth-Centre and the Centre of Concern. Even though my passion is physical education and sport, I am very keen to experience different activities, people and projects of any topic. I am sure that I am learning a lot from my work here and I will try to help with my experiences and knowledge wherever I can!

	Heather Tiltmann – Facilities Manager
Office: 041-5812162 mail: heather@stjohnswalmer.org.za	My job has recently changed to that of Facility Manager, which means a more hands-on responsibility for all the Facilities of the Church property. This entails looking after the venues on the property and making sure they are ready for the many groups who use them, and in good repair. I liaise with the people who use the venues, pass on the appropriate information to the staff who prepare the venues and then check that everything is ready. It is also my responsibility to ensure that the Church is ready for worship. Another part of my job is ensuring that music is prepared for the services. There is a team who select the music. This selection is then put together by a team of volunteers, under my supervision. It is so exciting to be part of the team of St. John's, a dynamic and growing Parish.

	Allan Anderson – Financial Manager
Office: 041-5812162 mail: allan@stjohnswalmer.org.za	I joined the staff of St. Johns in 2006, after retiring from being Administration Manager for many years. My responsibility is to handle all the financial aspects of the Parish in liaison with the Rector, Parish Executive and Treasurer. As an additional task I am responsible for the maintenance of the property. Rose, my wife, and I have undertaken to look after the gardens and this is proving to be a wonderful blessing for us.




	Cherolyn Amery – Youth Pastor
Office: 041-5812162 Cell: 0732777542 mail: cherolyn@stjohnswalmer.org.za	I came on board the parish staff at the beginning of the year as the in-house youth worker and am looking forward to seeing where God takes me in this! I'm responsible for the day-to-day planning and organising of all things youth, but am keen to get involved in various aspects of parish life. I love the fact that this job involves so many of my passions: God, people, theology, writing, music, drama, paint, coffee and pizza!




	Carla Stindt – Rector's Assistant & Children's Church Pastor
Office: 041-5812162 Home : 041-3734983 Cell: 0731783388 mail: carla@stjohnswalmer.org.za	I have recently been appointed as the Pastoral Assistant to the Rector at St John's, on a part time basis. I attempt to facilitate the ministry and duties of the Rector both administratively and pastorally. This should hopefully enable him to use his time more effectively to focus on prayer and the leadership of the parish. You may well find your calls to Rob and requests for appointments with him referred to me initially. Please don't be offended! Its all in an attempt to function in the best way possible in our service of God and each other.I thank God for this opportunity to grow in my understanding of His ways and my relationship with Him; my relationship with His family and service in His Kingdom. I have also been appointed as the Children's Church Pastor to assist Cherolyn in her post as Youth Pastor. to this end I assist with the planning and implementation of the weekly programmes for Toadies and Tadpals and co-ordinate the Sunday Children's Church programme. I would like to see this extend to encouraging families to become more involved and feel supported in bringing up their children to know the Lord.

	Rosemarie Anderson – Centre of Concern Co-ordinator
Office: 041-5812162 mail: rose@stjohnswalmer.org.za	I joined the Centre of Concern as a member in 1997 and looked after the Walmer Primary School feeding at St Augustine 's church in Gqebera. When Revd Nicolette took over as our Convenor in 2004, I became more involved taking on the position of minute clerk and enlarging the school feeding to 5 different schools, today we are feeding 800 children at 8 schools.In 2006 I was voted onto the Parish Council to represent Centre of Concern and in October 2007 took on the position of Centre of Concern Worker. My job is to assist all the Project leaders, it is a very demanding job and keeps me on my toes most of the day.

	Julie McDonald- Ruth Project Co-ordinator
Office: 041-5812162 mail: concern@stjohnswalmer.org.za	Julie McDonald I joined St John's Centre of Concern in 2006 and started working in January 2007 as leader of the Ruth Project. My job is to co-ordinate the work of the 4 Carers and 2 Cooks who work at the Soup Kitchen in Fountain Road and the Ruth Centre in Chase Street. Our passion is to care for the elderly in Walmer Township and to contribute to the health and well being of the Community

	Noble Kalani – Gardens
	I have worked at St John’s since the beginning of 2005 and have responsibility for assisting the Property Manager in ensuring that the gardens and the property remain neat and tidy.

	Salman Kase – Driver and Handyman
	I joined St. Johns in July 2007 after working on a farm in Patensie for 36 years as their driver. My duties are that of bus driver fetching people from Gqebera, young and old, and taking them to school and the Parish and back again.I also assist with Handyman and garden duties around the Parish plant.

	Lizzie Makosi – Cleaner
	I have worked at St John's since the beginning of 2000. I am responsible for keeping the various halls and the church neat and tidy and ready for worship and the various groups that meet in the many venues.
