A daily source of strength

Psalm 68:19
“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.”

Dear believer, consider today’s verse very carefully. This verse reveals God as the One who bears our burdens on a daily basis. What does it mean to bear someone else’s burdens? According to online dictionaries it means to carry; to uphold or to sustain. God Almighty carries our burdens and He strengthens us and sustains us during difficult and trying times. You may feel weighed down like the person in the picture, but be sure to release your burdens to the Lord in prayer each day. According to scripture, God is interested in our everyday burdens and willing to carry them for us, while at the same time, upholding us – physically, spiritually and emotionally. A lot of believers feel they can face this life in their own strength by adapting a positive mind-set. I personally believe that this does have a powerful effect on how far you will go in life, but in my personal opinion, it will not take you all the way. There will come a time when you will not have the positivity or the energy or the strength to put one foot in front of the other… Then…. The only thing that is left is turning to God for His strength and His power by faith. It is said that we only turn to God when our own strength becomes totally depleted. We should be aware of this fact pro-actively and thus walk in a close-knit relationship with God every day; drawing strength from His Word and His Spirit. We should know our need of God before we even get up in the morning. We really cannot do anything apart from Him and His grace. Dear friend, realize today that God loves you and that in Christ He is able to help you by bearing your  burdens for you. Ask Him for it and release all your cares and concerns to Him in this day. Trust Him to take you through each one – He surely will!

Prayer: “Heavenly Father, we acknowledge our need of You this morning. We truly can’t do anything without Your help. Our own strength and mental attitude can only take us that far. Today, we need You to bear our burdens on our behalf, oh God. We have cares and concerns and we would like to place them before You and ask You to carry them for us. We release them to You this morning. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. ”
