We have two Havens in Walmer Township where we care for 10 children.
The boys’ home is the original Haven. Vuyolwethu, Siya, Kwekwe, and Tsepo are cared for by Vuyokazie Makhazi their housemother and Wendy Mali the assistant housemother. The boys are doing very well at school, play rugby and soccer and are members of the local Scouts Group.
This haven houses the 5 girls, Zikhona, Anelisa, Noxolo, Ziphozihle, Tato, and our youngest 4 year old boy Bukhobethu. Zikhona is presently helping at the House of Resurrection Haven for 4 mornings in the week, Anelisa, finished school last year and is working as a seamstress in North End, Noxolo is in her last year at Westview School, Ziphozihle and Tato attend Settlers Primary School. They are cared for by house mother Jackie Matika and assistant Zanelle James.
Volunteers are always welcome to visit the Havens, but do notify Rose Anderson or Revd Mark Derry before hand.
