School Feeding Schemes
We have been feeding 200 children a day at Aaron Gqadu Secondary School in Kwazakhele since 2005. We used to supply them with the ingredients for a cooked meal for the children but have found the children prefer a peanut butter or jam sandwich at break time. This school is situated in a very poor area and we have found a significant drop in absenteeism when the children are fed at school.
St Augustine’s Play and Learn Centre, Gqebera
Centre of Concern supply all the ingredients for 80 children to receive a sandwich at 10am and a cooked meal at noon each school day.
